Per Diem Special Education Paraprofessional in Southgate, MI

Key Responsibilities:

• Foster academic, behavioral, and social growth for students in classroom settings
• Deliver individualized and small-group support as directed by teachers and staff
• Help students with daily routines, classroom transitions, and participation
• Implement behavioral plans and follow individualized education programs (IEPs) as needed
• Offer supervision, encourage student mobility, and assist with personal care
• Contribute to a safe, respectful, and inclusive learning atmosphere

Required Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED
• Minimum age requirement of 18 years
• Ability to provide a current TB test (per school requirements)
• Physical capability to stand, walk, and help with lifting when needed
• Meet all mandated background clearances (can be updated prior to start)

Preferred Experience:

• Background in schools, special education, behavioral health, or childcare
• Previous work with students with special needs, autism, or behavioral challenges
• Experience with CPI, PMT, or RBT is a plus (not mandatory)
• Reliable, collaborative, and patient approach
