Per Diem Special Education Paraprofessional in Seattle, WA

Seeking individuals passionate about making a positive impact in the lives of students! Flexible, school-based per diem opportunities are now open for compassionate paraprofessionals to serve as Instructional Aide substitutes. Step into a meaningful role assisting students 1:1 or in small groups, providing essential academic, behavioral, and social support as guided by school staff.

This position offers as-needed, per diem shifts based on daily school coverage needsperfect for those wanting flexibility while helping schools create an inclusive, supportive learning environment.

What You'll Do:

• Provide individualized or small-group assistance under the guidance of teachers
• Support students academic, social, and behavioral progress in the classroom
• Assist with daily routines, classroom participation, and transitions
• Implement behavior plans and follow IEPs when applicable
• Ensure student safety, help with mobility, and provide personal care if necessary
• Contribute to a positive, respectful classroom community

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED required
• Must be at least 18 years old
• Ability to stand, walk, and assist with lifting when necessary
• Willingness to complete all required school clearances and TB tests prior to start
• Previous experience in schools, special education, child care, or behavioral health is valued
• Experience working with special needs, autism, or behavioral challenges is a plus
• CPI, PMT, or RBT skills are advantageous (not required)
• Dependable, patient, and collaborative attitude
