Per Diem Teacher Assistant - Santa Ana, California

School paraprofessional substitutes are needed to provide essential support to students in an educational setting. These per diem, as-needed positions offer the flexibility to accept assignments based on your schedule and the evolving needs of local schools. Key Responsibilities:

• Support students academically, behaviorally, and socially in classroom settings
• Offer 1:1 or small-group assistance under the direction of teachers and staff
• Assist students with daily routines, transitions, and full participation in classroom activities
• Implement behavior support plans and follow individual education programs (IEPs) as required
• Help with mobility, supervision, and personal care needs
• Create and maintain a safe, respectful, and inclusive learning environment

Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED
• At least 18 years old
• Ability to pass a TB test as required by school policy
• Physically able to stand, walk, and assist with lifting as necessary
• Willingness to complete fingerprinting and background clearances prior to starting

Preferred Experience:

• Previous experience in schools, special education, child care, or behavioral health
• Experience working with students with special needs, autism, or behavioral challenges
• Familiarity with CPI, PMT, or RBT (not required)
• Patient, reliable, and collaborative approach
