Per Diem Paraprofessional in San Mateo, CA

Key Responsibilities:

• Support students academic, behavioral, and social growth in classroom settings
• Provide individualized or small-group assistance as directed by educators
• Help students navigate daily routines, transitions, and active participation in lessons
• Follow behavior support plans and implement IEPs when applicable
• Assist with mobility, supervision, and personal care needs as required
• Contribute to a respectful, safe, and inclusive environment for all students

Essential Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED
• Minimum age of 18
• Recent TB test (as per district requirements)
• Ability to stand, walk, and assist with lifting when necessary
• Willingness to obtain any required school clearances prior to starting

Preferred Experience:

• Background in school, special education, behavioral health, or child care settings
• Experience supporting students with special needs, autism, or behavioral challenges
• CPI, PMT, or RBT experience welcomed but not required
• Patient, reliable mindset and a collaborative approach
