Per Diem Teacher Assistant - San Marcos, California

In this position, you'll help students succeed academically, behaviorally, and socially by working closely with teachers and support staff. Whether youre providing one-on-one assistance or supporting small groups, youll play a vital role in helping students navigate daily classroom routines, transitions, and learning activities. Your expertise may be needed to implement behavior support plans, follow IEPs, assist with supervision, and provide personal care as required, all while fostering a safe, inclusive, and respectful classroom atmosphere.

To be eligible, you must:

• Hold a high school diploma or GED
• Be at least 18 years old
• Have an up-to-date TB test (in line with district requirements)
• Demonstrate the ability to stand, walk, and assist with lifting as needed
• Have current school clearances or be willing to attain them before starting

Ideal candidates bring:

• Experience in schools, special education, behavioral health, or child care settings
• Familiarity with supporting students with special needs, autism, or behavioral challenges
• CPI, PMT, or RBT credentials (a plus, though not required)
• A reliable, patient, and collaborative approach to teamwork
