Per Diem Special Education Paraprofessional in San Marcos, CA

Instructional Aide substitutes are needed to provide essential support to students in a dynamic, school-based environment. As an Instructional Aide, youll have the opportunity to work directly with students, offering 1:1 or small group assistance and helping them thrive both academically and socially. Key Responsibilities:

• Assist students in the classroom and during transitions throughout the school day
• Provide academic, behavioral, and social support under the guidance of teachers and school staff
• Deliver individualized attention per IEPs and behavior support plans when needed
• Promote a safe, respectful, and inclusive environment for all students
• Support with supervision, mobility, and personal care tasks
• Maintain clear communication with staff and contribute positively to the school community

Required Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED
• At least 18 years of age
• Current or willing to obtain TB test and all necessary clearances prior to start
• Physical ability to stand, walk, and assist with lifting as required

Preferred Experience and Skills:

• Background in a school, special education, behavioral health, or child care setting
• Experience working with students with special needs, autism, or behavioral challenges
• CPI, PMT, or RBT knowledge a plus
• Dependable, patient, and collaborative approach
