Job Description
Instructional Aide Subs are needed to support students in dynamic school environments on a flexible, per diem basis. Make a genuine difference as a key resource in helping students achieve academic and behavioral success. As an Instructional Aide, your role is vital: youll work directly with students, supporting them individually and in small groups while assisting teachers and school staff.
Responsibilities include:
- Assisting students throughout the school day, both academically and socially
- Providing direct 1:1 or small-group support based on classroom needs
- Helping students manage routines, transitions, and participation in classroom activities
- Implementing behavior support plans and following IEPs as necessary
- Supporting students with mobility, supervision, and personal care needs
- Maintaining a safe, respectful, and inclusive learning environment for all
School compliance is essential. To qualify, you must have:
- A high school diploma or GED
- Be at least 18 years old
- Ability to pass a TB test (per district requirement)
- Physical ability to stand, walk, and assist with lifting
- Current or willingness to obtain required background clearances before beginning
Preferred candidates bring:
- Experience in schools, child care, behavioral health, or special education settings
- Background supporting students with special needs, autism, or behavioral challenges
- Familiarity with CPI, PMT, or RBT techniques (a plus, not required)
- A reliable, patient, and collaborative approach
