Per Diem Instructional Assistant - Renton, WA

Instructional Aide substitute opportunities are available for compassionate individuals eager to support students on a flexible, per diem basis. In this role, youll provide meaningful assistance to students one-on-one or in small groups, making a daily difference inside bustling classrooms. Key Responsibilities:

• Assist students with academic tasks, behaviors, and social interactions as directed by teachers and support staff
• Provide focused 1:1 or small group support, helping with classroom engagement and participation
• Aid students in daily routines, transitions, and maintaining a structured environment
• Follow established behavior support plans and individualized education plans (IEPs)
• Help supervise, provide mobility support, and assist with personal care needs when necessary
• Maintain a safe, respectful, and inclusive environment for all learners

Basic Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED
• At least 18 years old
• Current TB test (district-specific requirement)
• Ability to stand, walk, and lift as needed for student support
• Willingness to secure or renew all required clearances before starting

Preferred Experience:

• Previous experience in schools, special education, behavioral health, or child care
• Familiarity with special needs, autism, or behavioral challenges
• CPI, PMT, or RBT credentials are an advantage, but not mandatory
• Reliable, patient, and able to work collaboratively within a team
