Per Diem Special Education Paraprofessional in Pittsburg, CA

Instructional Aide Substitutes are needed for dynamic, student-focused roles in a school environment near Pittsburg, CA. This per diem, as-needed opportunity is perfect for compassionate individuals eager to make a positive difference on a flexible schedule. As an Instructional Aide, youll support students one-on-one or in small groups, helping them succeed academically, behaviorally, and socially throughout their school day.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide academic, behavioral, and social assistance to students in classroom settings.
• Deliver 1:1 or small-group support as directed by teachers and school staff.
• Assist students with daily routines, transitions, and engagement in classroom activities.
• Implement behavior support strategies and follow IEPs as necessary.
• Facilitate mobility and supervision, supporting personal care needs as appropriate.
• Foster a safe, respectful, and inclusive environment for all students.

Required Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• TB test completed as per district regulations.
• Physical ability to stand, walk, and support students with lifting when needed.
• Current clearances, or willingness to obtain them prior to starting.

Preferred Experience:

• Experience in schools, special education, behavioral health, or child care settings.
• Exposure to supporting students with special needs, autism, or behavioral challenges.
• CPI, PMT, or RBT training is advantageous, but not required.
• Demonstrated reliability, patience, and teamwork skills.
