Per Diem Teacher Assistant - Overland Park, Kansas

In this role, youll work directly with students, providing essential support ranging from 1:1 assistance to small-group guidance. You'll actively help students engage academically, behaviorally, and sociallymaking each day in the classroom more productive and impactful. This as-needed position allows you to pick up shifts based on school coverage needs, giving you control while contributing your expertise.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver individualized or small-group support as directed by teachers and staff
• Help students participate in daily routines, classroom activities, and transitions
• Implement behavior support plans and support student IEPs when needed
• Assist with supervision, mobility, and personal care to ensure safety and inclusion
• Foster a positive, respectful, and engaging learning environment

Requirements for School Compliance:

• High school diploma or GED
• Minimum age of 18
• TB test in accordance with district guidelines
• Ability to stand, walk, and assist with lifting
• Up-to-date clearances, or willingness to obtain them before starting

Preferred Experience:

• School, special education, behavioral health, or child care background
• Experience supporting students with special needs, autism, or behavioral challenges
• CPI, PMT, or RBT experience is a plus, but not required
• Reliable, patient, and collaborative approach
