Instructional Aide Substitute Opportunities Per Diem, School-Based

Responsibilities:

• Provide academic, behavioral, and social support to students in school classrooms
• Deliver 1:1 and small group assistance under the guidance of teachers and staff
• Assist with classroom participation, transitions, and daily routines
• Implement behavior support strategies and follow IEP goals as directed
• Help students with personal care, supervision, and mobility needs
• Maintain a respectful, safe, and welcoming classroom atmosphere

Required Credentials (per Illinois school compliance):

• High school diploma or GED
• Minimum 18 years of age
• Current PEL License
• TB test (to meet district regulations)
• Physical ability to stand, walk, and assist with lifting
• Willingness to secure all required clearances before working

Preferred Background:

• Previous experience in school settings, special education, behavioral health, or childcare
• Experience assisting students with special needs, autism, or behavioral challenges
• Familiarity with CPI, PMT, or RBT practices is a plus, but not mandatory
• Reliable, patient, and collaborative work style

Compensation for this position ranges from $19.42 to $30.42. This posting is open for 60 days after the posting date.
