Per Diem Teacher Aide | Oakland, California

Responsibilities:

• Provide direct 1:1 or small group support in classroom settings as directed by teachers and staff.
• Assist students with daily routines, transitions, and full classroom participation.
• Implement behavioral support strategies and follow IEPs as required.
• Offer help with mobility, supervision, and personal care when needed.
• Create and maintain a safe, inclusive, and positive learning environment.

Minimum Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED
• At least 18 years old
• Ability to pass a TB test (as required by the district)
• Physical ability to stand, walk, and assist with lifting during shifts
• Current school clearances or willingness to obtain them before starting

Preferred Experience:

• Previous work in a school, child care, behavioral health, or special education setting
• Familiarity with supporting students with special needs, autism, or behavioral challenges
• CPI, PMT, or RBT experience (not required but welcome)
• Dependable, patient, team-focused, and ready to make a difference
