Per Diem Teacher Aide | Oakland, California

Instructional Aide Substitutes are needed in the Oakland, CA area, offering per diem, flexible opportunities to make a positive impact in local schools. Key Responsibilities:

• Provide individualized or small-group academic, behavioral, and social support to students
• Assist classroom teachers and school staff with instructional needs
• Support students during daily routines, transitions, and learning activities
• Follow and implement behavior support plans and individual education programs (IEPs)
• Offer assistance with mobility, supervision, and personal care if required
• Foster a safe, inclusive, and respectful classroom environment

Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED
• Must be 18 years of age or older
• TB test in compliance with district guidelines
• Physically able to stand, walk, and assist with lifting as needed
• Current clearances, or willingness to obtain prior to starting

Preferred Experience:

• Previous experience in a school, special education, behavioral health, or childcare setting
• Experience supporting students with special needs, autism, or behavioral challenges
• CPI, PMT, or RBT certification is a plus but not required
• Dependable, patient, and a collaborative attitude
