Instructional Aide Substitutes Needed School-Based, Flexible Per Diem Roles

Instructional Aides are sought to provide vital 1:1 support to students across local school settings near Oak Park, IL. This as-needed, per diem position offers the flexibility to accept assignments that fit your schedule, with opportunities to make a genuine difference in students academic, behavioral, and social development each day.

Responsibilities:

• Provide supportive assistance to students in classroom environments, both 1:1 and in small groups, under the direction of teachers and school personnel.
• Aid students during daily routines, transitions between activities, and encourage full participation in classroom tasks.
• Implement behavioral support strategies and follow Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) as directed.
• Offer supervision, mobility assistance, and personal care as needed to support student safety and inclusion.
• Create and maintain a respectful, welcoming, and safe learning space for all learners.

Minimum Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Tuberculosis (TB) test, per district policies.
• Physical ability to stand, walk, and assist with moderate lifting.
• Completion of all required background checks and clearances before starting.

Preferred Qualities & Experience:

• Prior experience in schools, special education, childcare, or behavioral health environments.
• Familiarity working with students with special needs, including autism or behavioral challenges.
• Exposure to CPI, PMT, or RBT practices is a plus.
• Reliable, patient, adaptable, and collaborative.
