Per Diem Special Education Paraprofessional in Norristown, PA

Make a real difference in students lives by working as an as-needed substitute Instructional Aide, Instructional Assistant, or Personal Care Assistant (PCA) in Philadelphia-area schools. In this role, you will:

• Provide both classroom and 1:1 support to students, following the lead of certified teachers.
• Foster academic engagement and help maintain a positive, inclusive environment.
• Assist with daily routines, behavior supports, and the implementation of IEPs or behavior plans as assigned.
• Offer direct support to students with supervision, mobility, and personal care needs, particularly within PCA assignments.
• Help students feel safe, respected, and encouraged in their learning journey.

To be considered, candidates must:

• Be at least 18 years old, holding a high school diploma or GED.
• Meet Pennsylvania compliance standards, including PA Act 34 Criminal Background Check, PA Act 151 Child Abuse Clearance, PA Act 114 FBI Fingerprinting, and a current TB test.
• Be physically able to assist with movement, standing, and lifting.
• Possess all clearances prior to starting or demonstrate willingness to obtain them.
• Display dependability, compassion, and professionalism at all times.

Preferred candidates may have:

• Previous experience in school, special education, or childcare environments.
• Background supporting students with special needs or behavioral challenges.
• Relevant certifications (CPI, PMT, RBT, etc.), though these are not required.
