Job Description
Step into a dynamic school setting as a skilled paraprofessional, supporting students across K-12 classrooms. In this contract position, youll play a meaningful role helping students maximize their learning potential every day. The assignment begins as soon as possible and continues through late May 2027, with hours on a per diem, as-needed basisoffering flexibility to fit around your schedule.
Key Qualifications:
- Possession of a valid Education Aide Permit is required
- Extensive fluency in American Sign Language (ASL)
- Prior experience working with students in K-12 settings is highly valued
- Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with educators, staff, and families
- Patience, adaptability, and a genuine interest in supporting student growth
Primary Responsibilities:
- Assist classroom teachers in implementing individualized and group instructional programs
- Use ASL to support effective communication with students who are deaf or hard of hearing, ensuring full participation and access to curriculum
- Foster positive, inclusive classroom environments that encourage student engagement
- Help with classroom management, monitor student progress, and provide feedback
- Support students with varying academic, social, or behavioral needs, adapting assistance based on individual learning goals
- Collaborate with teachers and school staff to track progress and maintain documentation as required
