Key Responsibilities:

• Assist students individually or in small groups as directed by educators
• Promote classroom participation and support daily routines and transitions
• Help implement behavior support plans and follow individual education programs (IEPs)
• Supervise students and assist with mobility, personal care, and ensuring safety
• Maintain a respectful and inclusive environment that fosters academic and personal growth

Minimum Requirements (per Illinois school standards):

• High school diploma or GED
• At least 18 years old
• Valid PEL License
• Current TB test per district policy
• Ability to stand, walk, and assist with lifting as required
• All required clearances current or willingness to obtain before starting

Preferred Qualifications:

• Previous experience in schools, child care, special education, or behavioral health
• Experience working with students with special needs, autism, or behavioral challenges
• Familiarity with CPI, PMT, or RBT (beneficial, not required)
• Strong reliability, patience, and the ability to collaborate with others
