Instructional Aide Substitute opportunities are available for compassionate individuals eager to make a difference within school communities near Los Angeles, CA. These per diem, as-needed positions provide flexibility to fit your schedule, offering the chance to support students on a 1:1 or small-group basis as needs arise throughout the academic year.

As an Instructional Aide Substitute, your days will be purposeful and rewarding, working closely with students and school staff to foster academic and social growth in inclusive environments.

Key Responsibilities:

• Offer direct academic, behavioral, and social support to students in classroom settings
• Provide individualized or small-group assistance per teacher and staff direction
• Help students with daily routines, classroom transitions, and participation in school activities
• Follow and implement behavioral support plans and IEP directives as needed
• Support mobility, supervision, and, when required, personal care needs
• Maintain a safe, respectful, and welcoming classroom atmosphere

Compliance & Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED
• At least 18 years old
• Satisfactory TB test (in line with district standards)
• Physical ability to stand, walk, and assist with lifting as necessary
• Willingness to obtain or update required background clearances prior to starting

Preferred Qualifications:

• Previous experience in schools, special education, behavioral health, or child care
• Familiarity with supporting students with special needs, autism, or behavioral challenges
• CPI, PMT, or RBT experience is a plus (not required)
• Dependability, patience, and a collaborative spirit
