Job Description
School Paraprofessional Substitutes are needed to support students in the classroom on a per diem basis. Work within a professional, structured environment where your days will include:
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide academic, behavioral, and social support to students within classroom settings.
- Offer 1:1 or small-group assistance under the guidance of teachers and staff.
- Support students daily routines, classroom participation, and transitions throughout the school day.
- Implement behavior support plans and follow individualized education programs (IEPs) as directed.
- Assist with mobility, supervision, and personal care needs when required.
- Help maintain a safe, respectful, and inclusive learning environment for all students.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED.
- Minimum age of 18 years.
- Current TB test (or willingness to obtain).
- Physical ability to stand, walk, and assist with lifting if needed.
- All required school clearances current or willingness to complete them before starting.
Preferred Experience:
- Previous experience working in schools, special education, behavioral health, or child care settings.
- Familiarity with supporting students with special needs, autism, or behavioral challenges.
- CPI, PMT, or RBT certification is a plus but not required.
- Reliable, patient, and adaptable, with a team-oriented outlook.
