Per Diem Instructional Aide in Long Beach, CA

You will have the opportunity to work one-on-one or with small groups, helping students succeed academically, socially, and behaviorally. Assignments are per diem, so you can choose shifts that fit your schedule and availability.

What Youll Do:

• Support students in daily classroom activities and academic tasks
• Assist with routines, transitions, supervision, and personal care as needed
• Implement behavior support strategies and follow Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
• Work alongside teachers and school staff, fostering a safe, positive, and inclusive environment
• Provide encouragement and guidance to help students develop key skills
• Follow school compliance procedures and maintain up-to-date clearances

Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED
• At least 18 years of age
• Recent TB test and willingness to complete additional clearances as needed
• Ability to physically support students (standing, walking, occasional lifting)
• Reliability, patience, and a collaborative approach

Preferred Experience:

• Previous work in education, special education, behavioral health, or child care
• Experience supporting students with specialized needs, including autism or behavioral challenges
• CPI, PMT, or RBT training (not required, but a plus)
