Per Diem Teacher Aide | Long Beach, California

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide academic, behavioral, and social support to students within classroom environments
• Deliver 1:1 or small-group assistance, following guidance from teachers and school staff
• Aid students with daily routines, classroom transitions, and active participation
• Implement behavior support strategies and Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), as needed
• Assist with mobility, supervision, and personal care for students requiring extra help
• Maintain a safe, respectful, and inclusive learning space

To qualify, candidates must:

• Possess a high school diploma or GED
• Be at least 18 years of age
• Have or obtain a current TB test according to school requirements
• Be physically able to stand, walk, and assist with lifting
• Complete all needed clearances before starting

Preferred Experience:

• Previous experience in school, special education, behavioral health, or childcare settings
• Familiarity with supporting students with special needs, autism, or behavioral challenges
• CPI, PMT, or RBT credentials (not required, but a plus)
• Demonstrated reliability, patience, and collaboration skills
