Per Diem Special Education Paraprofessional in Long Beach, CA

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide academic, behavioral, and social support to students in classrooms and other school settings
• Work one-on-one or with small groups as directed by teachers and support staff
• Assist with daily routines, classroom transitions, and ensure active participation
• Implement behavior plans and follow students IEPs as directed
• Support mobility, provide supervision, and assist with personal care tasks as needed
• Uphold a safe, inclusive, and respectful environment for all students

Essential Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED
• At least 18 years old
• Ability to pass TB test (per district guidelines)
• Capable of standing, walking, and assisting with lifting
• Willingness to complete or update required background clearances before starting

Preferred Experience:

• Previous work or volunteer experience in schools, childcare, behavioral health, or special education
• Familiarity with supporting students with autism, behavioral needs, or disabilities
• CPI, PMT, or RBT credentials are a plus, but not required
• A patient and team-oriented attitude with strong communication skills
