Per Diem Teacher Assistant - Long Beach, California

As an instructional aide sub, youll play a vital role in the academic, behavioral, and social growth of students, ensuring access and engagement for all. Key Responsibilities:

• Provide personalized support to students during classroom activities, transitions, and routines
• Assist students 1:1 or in small groups, following teacher direction and school protocols
• Aid in implementing academic and behavioral support plans, including IEPs as appropriate
• Support student mobility, supervision, and personal care needs
• Help maintain safe, respectful, and inclusive classroom environments

Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED
• Minimum age of 18
• TB test in accordance with district policy
• Able to stand, walk, and assist with lifting as needed
• Current or obtainable clearances per school requirements

Preferred Experience:

• Background in education, special education, behavioral health, or child care
• Experience supporting students with special needs, autism, or behavioral challenges
• Familiarity with CPI, PMT, or RBT is a plus, but not required
• Reliable, proactive, and collaborative
