Per Diem Teacher Assistant | Long Beach, California

Instructional Aide Substitute positions offer a unique chance to support students on a flexible, per diem basis within local school settings. As a key contributor, youll provide essential academic, behavioral, and social supportworking either one-on-one or with small groups under the guidance of classroom teachers. Key Responsibilities:

• Assist students with classroom participation, daily routines, and transitions
• Support learners academically, behaviorally, and socially as directed by teachers
• Implement behavior support plans and follow IEPs, as needed
• Provide supervision, assist with mobility, and address personal care needs for students
• Maintain a respectful, inclusive, and safe learning environment

Required Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED
• At least 18 years old
• TB test (per local requirements)
• Physical ability to stand, walk, and lift when required
• Current school clearances, or willingness to obtain prior to assignment

Preferred Experience:

• Background in schools, special education, behavioral health, or child care
• Experience supporting students with special needs, autism, or behavioral challenges
• Exposure to CPI, PMT, or RBT practices (not mandatory)
• Dependable, patient, and collaborative mindset
