Per Diem Special Education Paraprofessional in Long Beach, CA

Make a direct and lasting impact in local schools as an Instructional Aide Substitute, providing essential support to students on a flexible, per diem basis. What Youll Do:

• Foster academic, behavioral, and social growth for students in a school-based setting
• Offer individualized support and small-group guidance under the direction of teachers
• Assist students with daily routines, transitions, and participation in classroom activities
• Follow individualized behavior support plans and implement IEPs as needed
• Support students mobility, supervision, and personal care needs
• Help maintain a safe, respectful, and inclusive learning environment for all

Required Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED
• At least 18 years of age
• Current or willingness to obtain TB test and required clearances
• Capability to stand, walk, and assist with lifting as needed

Preferred Experience:

• Background in education, behavioral health, special education, or child care
• Experience supporting students with special needs or behavioral challenges
• Familiarity with CPI, PMT, or RBT (a plus, not required)
• Reliable, patient, and team-oriented approach
