Per Diem Teacher's Aide - Long Beach, California

School paraprofessional substitutes are needed to provide vital support to students in a school-based setting. These flexible, per diem opportunities offer the chance to work as a compassionate instructional aide, assisting students on a one-to-one basis or in small groups. Responsibilities:

• Offer academic, behavioral, and social support to students within the classroom.
• Work closely with teachers and school staff to provide 1:1 or small-group assistance.

• Help with supervision, mobility, and personal care needs as required.

Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED.
• Minimum age of 18 years.
• TB test compliance in accordance with district guidelines.
• Physical ability to stand, walk, and aid in lifting when needed.
• Current or readily obtainable background clearances.

Preferred Experience:

• Previous experience in a school, special education, behavioral health, or childcare environment.
• Familiarity with supporting students who have special needs, autism, or behavioral challenges.
• Additional credentials like CPI, PMT, or RBT (helpful but not mandatory).
• A dependable, patient, and collaborative approach.
