Per Diem Special Education Paraprofessional in Long Beach, CA

As an Instructional Aide, youll work one-on-one or with small groups, providing academic, behavioral, and social support to help students thrive. Key Responsibilities:

• Assist students academically, behaviorally, and socially in daily classroom activities
• Provide individualized or small-group support as directed by teachers and staff
• Help with daily routines, transitions, and encourage classroom participation
• Follow through on behavior plans and IEPs when applicable
• Support student supervision, mobility, and personal care needs
• Maintain a safe, welcoming, and inclusive environment for all learners

Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED
• At least 18 years of age
• Ability to stand, walk, and assist with lifting as needed
• TB test (per district requirements)
• Current clearances or willingness to obtain them prior to starting

Preferred Experience:

• Background in school, special education, behavioral health, or child care settings
• Experience working with students with special needs, autism, or behavioral challenges
• CPI, PMT, or RBT experience a plus
• Reliability, patience, and a collaborative attitude
