School-based paraprofessional substitutes are needed for per diem assignments in a structured and supportive school environment near Long Beach, CA. Essential Responsibilities:

• Provide academic, behavioral, and social support in classroom settings
• Work 1:1 with students or assist in small groups as directed by teachers and staff
• Help students with daily routines, transitions, and active participation
• Follow behavior support plans and IEPs when necessary
• Support mobility, personal care, and supervision needs
• Foster a safe, respectful, and inclusive learning environment

Compliance Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED required
• Must be at least 18 years old
• TB test (as per district requirements)
• Capable of standing, walking, and assisting with lifting if needed
• Must have current clearances or willingness to obtain prior to starting

Preferred Experience:

• Background in schools, special education, behavioral health, or childcare settings
• Experience supporting students with special needs, autism, or behavioral challenges is strongly valued
• CPI, PMT, or RBT credentials are a plus but not required
• Reliable, patient, and collaborative mindset is essential
