Instructional Aide Substitutes School-Based, Per Diem

As an Instructional Aide Substitute, youll support students individually or in small groups, assisting teachers and school staff in elementary, middle, and high school settings.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide 1:1 and small-group academic, behavioral, and social support to students within the classroom
• Assist with daily routines, transitions between activities, and increasing classroom participation
• Implement behavior support strategies and follow Individualized Education Plans (IEPs), as needed
• Help with student mobility, supervision, and personal care
• Foster a safe, respectful, and inclusive environment for all learners
• Communicate effectively with staff and take direction to best serve students' needs

Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED
• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Current TB test (per school/district guidelines)
• Ability to stand, walk, and assist in lifting or providing mobility help when needed
• Willingness to complete or renew relevant clearances before starting

Preferred Experience:

• Previous work in schools, childcare, special education, or behavioral health settings
• Experience supporting students with special needs, autism, or behavioral challenges
• Familiarity with CPI, PMT, or RBT practices is a plus (not required)
• Reliable, patient, and eager to collaborate with school teams
