Per Diem Paraprofessional in Lewistown, IL

In this role, you'll support students on a 1:1 basis, helping them succeed academically, behaviorally, and socially. Shifts are assigned based on school coverage needs, allowing you to accept work assignments that fit your schedule.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver personalized assistance to students in classrooms, as directed by teachers and school staff
• Provide academic, social, and behavioral support individually or in small groups
• Help students with transitions, daily routines, and classroom engagement
• Implement behavior support strategies and follow IEPs as required
• Support students with mobility, supervision, and personal care needs
• Foster a safe, respectful, and inclusive environment for all learners

Requirements:

• Must hold a high school diploma or GED
• At least 18 years of age
• Ability to pass a TB test (per district requirements)
• Capable of standing, walking, and assisting students who need help with lifting or mobility
• Up-to-date clearances (or willingness to obtain them before starting)

Preferred Experience:

• Background in school, special education, behavioral health, or child care settings
• Experience working with students with special needs, autism, or behavioral challenges
• Familiarity with CPI, PMT, or RBT (not required, but a plus)
• Dependable, patient, and collaborative work approach
