Per Diem Teacher Assistant | Lees Summit, Missouri

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver academic, behavioral, and social assistance to students in classroom settings
• Provide 1:1 or small-group support as directed by teachers and staff
• Help students with routines, transitions, and effective classroom participation
• Follow behavior support plans and implement IEPs when applicable
• Assist with mobility, supervision, and personal care needs as needed
• Maintain a safe, inclusive, and respectful learning environment

Requirements for School Compliance:

• High school diploma or GED
• One of the following: active ParaPro certification, Substitute Teaching certification, or 36 college credits
• Minimum 18 years old
• TB test per school requirements
• Ability to stand, walk, and assist with lifting
• Current clearances (or willingness to obtain prior to starting)

Preferred Experience:

• Previous experience in education, behavioral health, special education, or child care settings
• Background supporting students with special needs, autism, or behavioral challenges
• Experience with CPI, PMT, or RBT (a plus, not required)
• Reliable, patient, and collaborative work style
