Job Description
Support students in a school setting with flexible, per diem paraprofessional opportunities in Lees Summit, MO. Key Responsibilities:
- Assist students 1:1 or in small groups under teacher guidance
- Support academic tasks, behavioral interventions, and social development
- Implement behavior management plans and follow IEP guidelines as applicable
- Aid with daily routines, transitions, mobility, supervision, and personal care
- Maintain a respectful and safe classroom environment
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required
- Active ParaPro certification, Substitute Teaching certification, or minimum 36 college credits
- At least 18 years old
- Current TB test per school district requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, and assist with lifting as needed
- Up-to-date background clearances or willingness to obtain before starting
Preferred Experience:
- Background in education, special education, behavioral health, or child care
- Experience working with students with special needs, autism, or behavioral challenges
- Certification or training in CPI, PMT, or RBT is a plus, but not required
- Reliable, patient, and team-oriented personality
