Per Diem Classroom Assistant | Lancaster, California

Key Responsibilities:

• Offer academic, behavioral, and social support for students in classroom settings
• Assist students individually or in small groups under the guidance of educators
• Help facilitate routines, classroom participation, and transitions throughout the school day
• Implement behavior support strategies and follow IEP guidelines when applicable
• Provide supervision, mobility support, and, when appropriate, personal care assistance
• Foster a safe, respectful, and inclusive learning atmosphere

Required Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED
• At least 18 years of age
• Able to obtain a current TB test per district requirements
• Capable of standing, walking, and assisting with lifting students as needed
• Current clearances, or willingness to obtain them before starting

Preferred Experience:

• Background in school environments, special education, behavioral health, or child care
• Experience supporting students with autism, special needs, or behavioral challenges
• Familiarity with CPI, PMT, or RBT practices (a plus, not required)
• Dependable, patient, and collaborative work style
