What Youll Do

  • Jump in to support teachers and keep classrooms running smoothly
  • Work one-on-one or in small groups to help students succeed academically
  • Create a positive, structured, and engaging learning environment
  • Encourage great behavior and reinforce classroom routines
  • Follow teacher lesson plans and guidance with confidence
  • Support students with special needs, including assistance aligned with IEPs
  • Supervise students during transitions, lunch, recess, and other non-instructional times
  • Adapt like a pro to different schools, grade levels, and classroom styles

What Youll Need (Georgia Requirements Included!)

To work as a paraprofessional in Georgia, you must meet one of the following state requirements:

  • A high school diploma or GED and one of the following:
    • Completion of at least 60 semester hours (or 90 quarter hours) of college coursework from an accredited institution, OR
    • An Associates degree or higher, OR
    • A passing score on the GACE Paraprofessional Assessment

Plus:

  • Ability to pass a background check in accordance with Georgia requirements
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and adapt quickly to new environments
  • Dependability and professionalism when accepting shifts
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine interest in working with children

Bonus Points If You Have:

  • Prior experience working in schools or with children
  • Experience supporting students with special education needs
  • Familiarity with classroom management strategies
  • CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
