Per Diem Classroom Assistant | Kent, Washington

Instructional Aide Substitute positions are now open for engaged and caring professionals interested in supporting students in a school environment. These per diem, as-needed opportunities offer flexible shifts based on daily school coverage requirements. As an instructional aide, youll provide 1:1 and small group support to students, helping them succeed academically, socially, and behaviorally within classroom settings.

Key Responsibilities:

• Offer academic, behavioral, and social assistance to students as directed by instructional staff
• Deliver individualized or small-group support, fostering a productive classroom environment
• Help students with routine tasks, classroom transitions, and participation
• Implement behavior support plans and follow IEPs when necessary
• Assist with supervision, mobility needs, and, when appropriate, personal care
• Maintain a safe and inclusive environment that supports all learners

Requirements:

• Minimum of a high school diploma or GED
• At least 18 years of age
• Ability to pass a TB test (following district requirements)
• Physically able to stand, walk, and assist with lifting
• Willingness to obtain required clearances prior to starting

Preferred Experience and Attributes:

• Previous experience in education, special needs, behavioral health, or childcare
• Familiarity with supporting students who have special needs, behavioral challenges, or autism
• CPI, PMT, or RBT training is a bonus, but not required
• Dependable, patient, and collaborative attitude encouraged

Compensation for this position ranges from $17.00 to $28.00. This posting is open for 60 days after the posting date.
