What Youll Do

• Support students academically, socially, and behaviorally
• Provide 1:1 or small-group assistance
• Assist with classroom routines and transitions
• Follow teacher direction, IEPs, and behavior plans
• Help maintain a safe, structured, and inclusive environment

Required Qualifications (DESE Compliance)

To work in North Kansas City Schools, you must:

• Be registered with the Missouri Department of Elementary & Secondary Education (DESE)
• Meet one of the following:
  • At least 36 college credit hours, OR
  • Passing score on the Paraprofessional Assessment, OR
  • Completion of a 20-hour Substitute Training Course
• High school diploma or GED
• At least 18 years old
• Ability to stand, walk, and assist with lifting if needed
• Complete required school clearances and TB test

Preferred Experience

• School, childcare, or special education experience
• Experience supporting students with diverse learning or behavioral needs
• Reliable, patient, and team-oriented mindset
