Job Title: Per Diem Paraprofessional

Location: North Kansas City, Missouri
Position Type: Per Diem / On-Call

Position Overview:
We are seeking reliable and adaptable Per Diem Paraprofessionals to support students and teachers across schools in the North Kansas City area. This role is ideal for individuals who enjoy working with children and can step into a variety of classroom settings on short notice. Assignments may include general education, special education, and support roles throughout the school day.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist teachers with instructional activities and classroom management
• Provide one-on-one or small group support to students
• Reinforce lessons and help students stay engaged and on task
• Support students with diverse learning needs, including behavioral and social-emotional support
• Help prepare classroom materials and organize learning spaces
• Supervise students during transitions, lunch, recess, and other non-classroom times
• Follow lesson plans and directions from the classroom teacher or school staff
• Maintain student confidentiality and follow district policies

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Associates degree or at least 60 college credit hours preferred (or ability to meet Missouri substitute/paraprofessional requirements)
• Experience working with children in an educational or childcare setting preferred
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to be flexible, dependable, and responsive in different school environments
• Basic computer skills
• Ability to pass a background check and meet all district hiring requirements

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience supporting students with special needs
• Familiarity with classroom management techniques
• CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)

Work Schedule:

• On-call, as-needed basis
• Flexible scheduling based on school needs and candidate availability

Compensation:

• Competitive hourly rate based on experience and district guidelines
