Per Diem Instructional Aide in Joliet, IL

Instructional Aide Substitutes are needed to support students in school-based settings near Joliet, IL. Key Responsibilities:

• Assist students in academic, behavioral, and social areas during the school day
• Offer 1:1 or small-group support as guided by classroom teachers and staff
• Help students navigate daily routines, transitions, and classroom activities
• Follow IEPs and behavior support plans as needed
• Provide support with mobility, general supervision, and personal care
• Maintain a safe, inclusive, and respectful classroom environment

Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED
• Minimum age of 18
• TB test (per school district requirements)
• Ability to stand, walk, and assist with lifting when needed
• Up-to-date background clearances (or willingness to obtain prior to start)

Preferred Experience:

• Previous work in school, special education, behavioral health, or child care settings
• Experience supporting students with special needs, autism, or behavioral challenges
• CPI, PMT, or RBT training welcomed but not required
• Demonstrated reliability, patience, and teamwork
