Per Diem Teacher's Aide - Joliet, Illinois

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist students with classroom participation, daily routines, and transitions
• Provide 1:1 and small-group support based on teacher and staff direction
• Support students academic and behavioral progress under established plans
• Implement IEP goals and behavior support plans alongside education professionals
• Foster a safe, respectful, and inclusive atmosphere for all learners
• Assist with mobility, supervision, and personal care tasks as necessary

Minimum Requirements (per Illinois School Compliance):

• High school diploma or GED and at least 18 years of age
• Valid PEL license
• TB test (per district guidelines)
• Physically able to stand, walk, and assist with lifting tasks
• Current required clearances, or willingness to obtain before starting

Preferred Background:

• Experience in schools, special education, behavioral health, or childcare
• Previous work with students who have special needs, autism, or behavioral challenges
• Training in CPI, PMT, or RBT is helpful, though not required
• Demonstrated reliability, patience, and a collaborative approach
