Per Diem Instructional Aide in Ithaca, NY

As an Instructional Aide, you'll play a vital role in helping students thrive both academically and socially, working closely with teachers and school staff to provide individualized, meaningful support.

Key Responsibilities:

• Offer 1:1 or small group assistance to students in classroom settings
• Support academic, behavioral, and social development, guided by teacher and staff direction
• Help students with daily routines, transitions, and classroom participation
• Implement behavior support plans and follow IEPs where applicable
• Assist with mobility, supervision, and personal care as needed
• Support a safe, respectful, and engaging learning atmosphere

Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED
• At least 18 years old
• TB test in accordance with district policies
• Physically able to stand, walk, and help with lifts if necessary
• Ability to obtain necessary school clearances prior to starting

Preferred Experience:

• Work history in schools, special education, behavioral health, or child care
• Experience supporting students with special needs, autism, or behavioral challenges
• Familiarity with CPI, PMT, or RBT considered an asset
• Paraprofessional or Teaching Assistant Certification preferred
• Patience, reliability, and a collaborative spirit
