Per Diem Special Education Paraprofessional in Irvine, CA

As a per diem professional, youll be called in as needed to provide hands-on support in classrooms, making a lasting difference on both an individual and school-wide level.

What Youll Do:

• Assist students academically, behaviorally, and socially within classroom settings
• Work 1:1 or in small groups to support learning under teacher or staff guidance
• Help students with daily routines, classroom participation, and transitions
• Follow behavior support plans and implement IEPs as directed
• Provide supervision, support mobility, and assist with personal care as necessary
• Maintain a safe, welcoming, and inclusive classroom environment

Qualifications and Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED required
• Minimum age: 18 years
• Compliant with school health requirements, including TB test (per district guidelines)
• Ability to assist with physical tasks, including standing, walking, and lifting
• Ability to clear all required background and district clearances prior to starting

Preferred Experience:

• Experience in schools, special education, behavioral health, or child care
• Background supporting students with special needs, autism, or behavioral challenges
• CPI, PMT, or RBT credentials valued but not required
• Dependable, patient, and collaborative approach
