Per Diem Instructional Aide - Irvine, CA

Instructional Aide Substitutes are sought to provide essential support to students in a dynamic, school-based environment. If you have a caring nature and enjoy working directly with children, this per diem, as-needed opportunity offers varied assignments that adapt to your schedule and availability.

What You'll Do:

• Provide direct academic, behavioral, and social support to students in classrooms
• Assist teachers and staff with 1:1 or small-group instruction as needed
• Support students through transitions, routines, and classroom activities
• Implement behavior support strategies and follow IEPs, when applicable
• Help with student mobility, supervision, and personal care requirements
• Maintain a safe, inclusive, and respectful learning space for everyone

Requirements for Consideration:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Age 18 or older
• Willingness to meet TB test requirements (per district standards)
• Capable of standing, walking, and assisting with lifting
• Current clearances, or readiness to secure them prior to starting

Preferred Background:

• Previous experience in school, special education, behavioral health, or child care settings
• Familiarity supporting students with special needs, autism, or behavioral issues
• Skills in CPI, PMT, or RBT (not mandatory, but valued)
• Dependable, patient, and enthusiastic about teamwork
