Per Diem Teacher's Aide - Independence, Missouri

As an Instructional Aide Substitute, youll work closely with teachers and staff to provide individualized supporthelping students thrive academically, socially, and behaviorally within a structured setting.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Offering one-on-one and small group support as directed by teaching staff
• Supporting daily classroom routines, transitions, and participation
• Implementing behavior support plans and Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) as applicable
• Assisting with mobility, supervision, and personal care needs
• Maintaining a safe, inclusive, and respectful environment for all learners

To be eligible, youll need:

• A high school diploma or GED
• Age 18 or older
• Ability to stand, walk, and assist with lifting as needed
• A recent TB test (district requirement)
• Current clearances or willingness to obtain them prior to starting

Preferred experience includes working with students in school, special education, behavioral health, or childcare settings. Experience supporting students with special needs, autism, or behavioral challenges is a plus, as are skills with CPI, PMT, or RBT (not required). A reliable, patient, and collaborative mindset is key to success in this role.
