Per Diem Instructional Aide in Horseheads, NY

Responsibilities:

• Support students academically, behaviorally, and socially within the classroom
• Deliver direct 1:1 or small-group assistance under the guidance of teachers and school staff
• Aid students with daily routines, transitions, and active classroom participation
• Follow behavior support plans and implement IEPs as needed
• Assist with supervision, mobility, and personal care responsibilities
• Ensure a safe, respectful, and welcoming learning environment

Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED
• At least 18 years old
• TB test, meeting district standards
• Able to stand, walk, and assist with mobility or lifting if required
• Willingness to obtain (or possession of) required clearances before starting

Preferred Experience:

• Previous work in educational, special education, behavioral health, or child care settings
• Experience assisting students with special needs, autism, or behavioral/ emotional challenges
• Familiarity with CPI, PMT, or RBT protocols is valued but not required
• Reliability, patience, and teamwork skills
