Per Diem Teacher Assistant - Horseheads, New York

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide academic, behavioral, and social support to students in classroom settings.
• Assist students individually or in small groups as directed by teachers and staff.
• Help with daily routines, smooth transitions, and classroom participation.
• Support the implementation of behavior plans and follow IEPs where applicable.
• Assist with student mobility, supervision, and personal care needs.
• Maintain a positive, safe, and inclusive learning environment.

Essential Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED.
• At least 18 years of age.
• Completion of a TB test (as required by district).
• Physical ability to stand, walk, and assist with lifting as needed.
• Willingness to obtain or update necessary background clearances prior to starting.

Preferred Experience:

• Experience working in an educational, special education, behavioral health, or child care setting.
• Familiarity with supporting students with special needs, autism, or behavioral challenges.
• Background in CPI, PMT, or RBT is a plus, but not required.
• Dependable, patient, and collaborative personality.
