Per Diem Classroom Assistant | Hayward, California

Instructional Aide subs are needed to support students 1:1 in a rewarding, flexible school-based opportunity. This as-needed, per diem role is a perfect fit for caring individuals seeking to make a meaningful difference within a structured academic setting. What you'll do:

• Provide day-to-day academic, behavioral, and social support to students in classroom environments
• Offer 1:1 or small-group assistance as directed by teachers and school administrators
• Help students with daily routines, transitions, and engage them in classroom activities
• Implement behavior support plans and adhere to students Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
• Support mobility, supervision, and personal care if needed
• Foster a respectful, safe, and inclusive learning atmosphere for every student

Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED
• At least 18 years old
• TB test (per district requirements)
• Capability to stand, walk, and assist with lifting when necessary
• School compliance clearancesmust be current or willing to obtain prior to starting

Preferred experience:

• Previous work in a school, special education, behavioral health, or childcare setting
• Comfort supporting students with special needs, autism, or behavioral challenges
• Exposure to CPI, PMT, or RBT (not required, but helpful)
• Dependable, patient, and collaborative approach
