Per Diem Special Education Paraprofessional in Hayward, CA

Key Responsibilities:

• Offer academic, behavioral, and social support to students within classroom settings
• Provide individualized (1:1) or small-group assistance as directed by teachers and staff
• Aid in daily routines, transitions, and encourage classroom participation
• Follow behavior support plans and implement IEP goals as applicable
• Support students with mobility, supervision, and personal care needs
• Foster a safe, inclusive, and respectful learning environment

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED
• At least 18 years of age
• Current (or willingness to obtain) TB test per school requirements
• Physical ability to stand, walk, and assist with lifting as needed
• Able to complete required clearances prior to starting

Preferred Experience:

• Previous work in school, special education, behavioral health, or child care settings
• Familiarity with supporting students who have special needs, autism, or behavioral challenges
• Experience with CPI, PMT, or RBT is a plus, but not mandatory
• Dependable, patient, and collaborative attitude
