Per Diem Instructional Assistant - Escondido, CA

What You'll Do:

• Work directly with students 1:1 or in small groups, delivering academic, behavioral, and social support within the classroom
• Follow direction from teachers and school staff to assist with classroom routines and transitions
• Implement individualized education programs and behavior support plans where applicable
• Supervise and support students mobility, personal care, and engagement in daily activities
• Contribute to a safe, inclusive, and respectful learning atmosphere

What It Takes:

• High school diploma or GED required
• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Ability to pass district-required TB testing and background clearances (current documentation or willingness to obtain before starting)
• Physically able to stand, walk, and assist with lifting as needed
• Experience in education, special education, behavioral health, or childcare is preferred
• Previous support of students with special needs, autism, or behavioral challenges is a plus
• Training such as CPI, PMT, or RBT is helpful, but not required
• Reliable, patient, and collaborative approach
