Per Diem Classroom Assistant | Escondido, California

Instructional Aide Subs are needed to provide valuable support within school environments, working directly with students who benefit from attentive, individualized guidance. This per diem, as-needed opportunity allows professionals to fit meaningful work around their own schedules while helping students succeed academically, socially, and behaviorally.

As an instructional aide substitute, you will:

• Assist students 1:1 or in small groups under the direction of teachers and classroom staff
• Support academic, behavioral, and social engagement
• Aid student participation, classroom routines, and smooth transitions throughout the day
• Follow behavior support plans and comply with IEP guidelines as required
• Monitor the safety, mobility, and well-being of students in your care, including supervision and personal care tasks
• Foster an inclusive, respectful, and secure classroom environment

Requirements to get started:

• High school diploma or GED
• Minimum age of 18
• TB test (in accordance with district standards)
• Ability to walk, stand, and help with lifting as needed
• Current clearances, or willingness to obtain prior to assignment

Preferred background includes:

• Experience in education, special education, behavioral health, or child care
• Background working with students who have special needs, autism, or behavioral challenges
• CPI, PMT, or RBT experience (a plus, not required)
• Dependable, patient, and collaborative approach to teamwork
