Per Diem Special Education Paraprofessional in Emmaus, PA

Instructional Aide substitutes are needed for flexible, school-based opportunities supporting students in academic, behavioral, and social development. This per diem position offers the ability to select shifts based on your schedule and the coverage needs of local schools.

In this essential role, youll assist students 1:1 or in small groups under the direction of certified staff. Responsibilities will include supporting classroom participation, helping with daily routines and transitions, following behavior intervention plans and IEPs, and assisting with supervision and personal care. Creating a safe, encouraging learning environment is at the heart of every task.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide individualized or small group support to students in classrooms
• Assist with daily routines, transitions, and classroom activities
• Implement behavior and academic support strategies under the guidance of teachers
• Help supervise and ensure student safety
• Support students with personal care needs if required

Minimum Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED
• 18 years of age or older
• Ability to meet local TB test requirements
• Physically able to stand, walk, and assist with lifting
• Current school compliance clearances or willingness to obtain prior to starting

Preferred Experience:

• Previous work in schools, special education, childcare, or behavioral health
• Experience supporting students with special needs, autism, or behavioral challenges
• CPI, PMT, or RBT training a plus but not required
• Strong reliability, patience, and ability to work as part of a team
